TP1A

TP1A IS THE 1ST OF 4 SEGMENTS NEEDED TO CONSTRUCT THE "HOBOKEN" COACH, THE OTHERS BEING TP1B, TP1C,& TP1D +Tp1f & Tp1r. ( Tp SEGMENTS ARE PHOTO BUILD AIDS) THE HOBOKEN COACH, BUILT BY GREEN OF N.J. WAS ADOPTED TO IMPROVE PASSENGER COMFORT AND SAFETY IN ABOUT 1832 BY REPLACING THE IMLAY- STYLE  4 WHEELED ROAD COACH WHICH RESEMBLED A STAGE-COACH ON FLANGED RAILROAD WHEELS.  THE ENTIRE COACH WAS BUILT OF WOOD WITH IRON FITTINGS (EVEN THE WHEELS- EXCEPT FOR THEIR IRON TIRES) BUT WAS LATER REPLACED BY THE PLATFORM END STYLE HARLAN COACH BY 1837 IN MOST RAILROADS. THE HOBOKEN COACH WAS FOUND OBJECTIONABLE BY AMERICANS BECAUSE ITS 3-COMPARTMENT ARRANGEMENT SEEMED TOO EUROPEAN, WITH THE CLASS- SYSTEM PREVALENT IN EUROPE. THIS MODEL IS A 4-WHEELED PASSENGER COACH IN 1:24 OR G SCALE.
